THE MISSOURI HUMANITIES COUNCIL AWARDS GRANT TO CENTRAL PLAINS POW WOW COMMITTEE

The Missouri Humanities Council (MHC) has awarded a grant of $2,500 to the Central Plains Pow Wow Committee in support of the project, the 2nd Annual Central Plains Inter-Tribal Pow Wow. The MHC is the only state-wide agency in Missouri devoted exclusively to humanities education for citizens of all ages. It has served as a state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities since 1971.

The Central Plains Inter-Tribal Pow Wow is an annual event that is dedicated to educating the community about Native American culture. Participants and spectators will be entertained as well as educated as we showcase the rituals, dances, songs, arts and crafts, and food of the Native American people of the Central Plains Region. This two day event will be held on September 9th and 10th, 2017 at Rothwell Park in Moberly Missouri.
